Memory leak Soap UI?

Hello,

We are trying to run the following scenario:

Excel datasource (10.000 records)
For every row I transfer the data to a properties file
7 webservice operations that use the properties file for input and output
Textfile to write results to
Datasource loop

We manage to get 565 records in the database before we hit an Out of memory error.

Is this a known issue and is there a way around this problem?

    Hi!

    could you please upgrade to the 2.0 release version and see if that helps? Many memory-related issues were fixed...

    ok!

    You can also try to turn off logging of OK steps in the TestCase Log (via its options-toolbar-button).. this will greatly decrease memory usage during data-driven testing..

    Hello,

    I have upgraded to 2.0 and turned off logging the OK steps but both actions did not have any effect. Memory still increases really fast until the Out of memory error pops up.

    Hi again,

    also, please try increasing the memory settings in soapui.bat.. change the line

    set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms128m -Xmx256m -Dsoapui.properties=soapui.properties

    to something like

    set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms128m -Xmx512m -Dsoapui.properties=soapui.properties

    or maybe even 768 (depends on how much memory you have in your machine)

    Hello,

    I will first try your suggestion about the memory settings in Soap UI. I am from The Netherlands and its almost the end of our working day here. When I leave I will start the scenario again and I will update you first thing tomorrow. If the scenario fails again I will email you our project file and the Excel file so you can reproduce it on your own machine. Thanks for the quick replies.

    I managed to get the 10.000 rows in the database, and it seems like all your suggestions had an effect. Thank you very much. We are now making our scenario bigger so I might be coming back to you
