Datasource feature

Would it be possible to have a 'number/iteration' datasource type.
so the idea is that lets say I want to execute steps 3 through 10, 5 times before moving to step 11.

Currently, I have to write counters using groovy or I create a fake grid source will junk entries equaling the number of time I want to loop.

A 'number/iteration' loop where u can specify the number/counter would be very helpful.
