Basic Authentication Freezes

I have a web service that has basic authentication required and when soapui prompts for the username and password it displays a blank dialog box. I cannot close the box or click into the box or enter anything on the box which causes me to kill the session and start over. I have soapui loaded on another machine which does not have the same problem so I tried uninstalling/reinstalling soapui and java but that did not seem to do anything.
