HELP: Error loading WSDL; There was something wrong with the WSDL you are trying to import

Hello,  I need help in resolving my current issue while in process of creating a new SOAP project [at work]. Once I click OK, I get an error window""

Error loading WSDL. There was something wrong with the WSDL you are trying to import.  

Error loading [https://.....]: java.lang.Exception: Failed to load url; https://..., 0-

""

I am having the issue when using the latest version SoapUI 5.4.0.  The WSDL does work when open via IE browser.  When using the older version of SoapUI 5.0.x, we do not have the issue.  Any ideas? Resolution?

I read similar posts, tried turning off the proxy, still same error.
