Encrypt project files with 256-bit encryption?

The project files can be password-encrypted. The forums say that Triple-Des is used for encryption.

Our company policies state that we must have these files encrypted with a minimum key length of 256.

Is there a configuration setting or any other modification that would allow the password encryption to use AES-256 intead of 3-DES? Or any other algorithm with a longer-length key?
