difference b/w beta 1 and beta2

I notice that in beta2 if my request has 'empty' elements, beta2 will not show those elements in my request editor. Whereas in beta1 I can still able to see the empty elements. Is this by design ? can I change some setting so that I can see the elements in the request even if they are empty
