Export Test Steps

Hello,
While writing bug entries, Dev usually wants to know the execution of the testcase. It would be nice to maybe right click the testcase and select 'show in notepad' or 'copy teststeps' so that i can just copy paste them in the bug report.

Thanks

Ali

  • Yes, we need to look into reporting, or rather exporting info in the next release.

We're envisioning good exporting functionality to HTML where you can import into the editor of choice.

We don't see exporting to pdf as a prioritized functionallity since most devs want to add commment.

The question is, what's the most common tool for writing bug reports? We've set Word as the most used tool, which imports HTML fine.

Word or plain old notepad would work just fine. So what I envision is (after a testcase fails) some option (.e.g 'create bug report) that will dump the testcase name, test steps, and failed request/response in notepad and open it. I can then just copy/paste the necessary to bugzilla/TFS
