Selecting the MainMenu Options

Hi all, Am trying to Navigate through the main Menu options as below In the Above Picture Until I click on Home button the remaining options will not be enabled .I need to Select File and...

    Maybe using another method to select items will solve the problem?

    I usually use .Click("");

     

    E.g: 

     

     mainmenu = Sys.Process("Teachers.debug").VCLObject("frmMain").VCLObject("barRibbon")
 mainmenu.Click("Home")
 mainmenu.Click("File|Functions|XYZ|ABC Navigator")

     

    Let me know if that works !

    altemann thanks for the help , actually there is an frame name which was not showing in Object spy but was visible on the menu so in between I linked with that frame name then the menu name as you said so it worked thanks once again

Ya i saw it though it is using click with co-ordinates ,that's not proper testing right ?? :)

Definitely not! 

 

Another way (this will probably work and should have been the first suggestion, sorry hehehe) is working with indexes:

 

To access the "Home" option:

 

YourObj.MainMenu.Click(0);

 

To access a dropdown menu, it works this way:

 

YourObj.MainMenu.Click("[1]|[2]");

 

This would access the File menu, third option in the dropdown.

    For my obj there is no method .MainMenu :( and if I try to code it its showing as python error

     

    But I was able to navigate to submenu options with

    mainmenu.Clickitem("File|Functions|XYZ|ABC Navigator")

     

     

    So how to click on Home ?

      Try removing the "MainMenu" from my last answer.

      Something like: YourObj.Click(0);

      Let's keep trying, I'm sure soon it'll work!

        Ya i already Tried that one it's clicking on the application but not on the home button
