I am running the Trial Edition of AQtime 8.71 prior to a decision whether to purchase or not. My app is a 32-bit Windows program built with Embarcadero 10.2 Tokyo. I am running on Windows 10 (v1803), 64-bit.
When I run the Performance Profiler, after various modules are loaded, nothing happens - my program doesa not appear on the screen and so there is nothing to profile.
Windows Task Manager shows my app is running (taking up 16% of CPU) but it is nowhere to be seen.
Has anyone else experience this and have a solution?
Thanks in anticipation.
Just to be on the safe side, I assume that you followed the requirements outlined here: https://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/63950/, didn't you?
If you are, then I would recommend to go through the AQTime's Troubleshooter at https://support.smartbear.com/troubleshooter/?prod=AQtime-8 and create Support ticket via the https://support.smartbear.com/message/?prod=AQtime form.
Yes, I have followed the instructions for preparing my application. AQtime finds and loads the debug information, reports the functions it cannot instrument, and then ... nothing happens.
I wonder whether there is some limit on the amount of debug info AQtime can handle?
Now that I have found the supplied sample apps, I have confirmed that AQtime works for a trivial app.
I have followed your advice and put in a bug report to SB.
Thanks for your efforts.

For the potential benefit of others, I will appreciate it if you update this thread with the results that you will get with Support...
I am facing exactly the same issue with Delphi 10.2.3 (using AQTime standard from getIt): the process is started and shows up in the process list the application code doesn't run at all.
I tried installing the "pro" trial, since the getIt version is apparently outdated (and without a clear way to be updated) but that installer hangs on "License Manager service installation".
I'd appreciate if you could explain how you solved your itssue (if you did solve it)
> installer hangs
Try to uninstall AQTime Standard, reboot and install AQTime one more time. If installation still fails, it is perfectly OK to create Support ticket about problems with Trial via the mentioned https://support.smartbear.com/message/?prod=AQtime form.
I did not get a resolution to the problem (other than start my app outside AQTime and then attach to the process).
I decided not to purchase the program, so my problem has gone away (sort of).
I hope you had greater successd than me.
> I did not get a resolution to the problem
Sorry to hear this...
Did they replied that they can't find the reason of the problem or cannot implement the fix or did they asked for your program that you was not able to sent them because of company policy?
In the latter case, I know that SmartBear usually agreed to sign the NDA and I know several companies that went this way and got solution for their problems.
They didn't put much effort into helping me with the problem. It was, basically, "run the app and then attach to it - that will work" rather than how to solve the problem itself.
I also found that the free 'trial' edition that comes with RADStudion failed to work out of the box - it left a very bad impression about the quality of the program.
Consequenctly, I have not purchased.
> free 'trial' edition that comes with RADStudion
Just to clarify things for myself: did you have problem with free edition provided with RAD Studio or with the Pro trial from https://smartbear.com/product/aqtime-pro/free-trial/ ?
IIRC, free edition is not supported by SmartBear but rather by Embarcadero.
If the problem was with Pro trial then it's just really strange that Support stopped their efforts on the 'attach to the app' recommendation.
