limiting size of reponse for failed assertions

We have an issue where some of our projects fail because of large responses from the service. We typically run into JAVA Heap Space issues. Would it be possible to have a setting in soapUI which would limit the size of the message for failed assertions. Typically the assertion message along with some of the soap response is enough to debug.

This would also condense my junit reports which contains (in our case) more data that we care about.
