java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

Hi,

sometimes when I creating new test I got this exception:

Exception in thread "MemoryMonitor" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
at com.eviware.soapui.support.monitor.MonitorPanel$Surface.run(MonitorPanel.java:271)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

the one big problem is that sometimes i forget to save project. Is there some way how to save project when this exception occurs ?

    Hi,

    I don't think so. Exactly when is this occurring? Which version of soapUI and which Operating System are you running?

    Could you have the soapUI log (a panel at the bottom of the soapUI window) open to see what's going on?

    version - 4.0.0
    OS - Ubuntu 11.04
    I cant provided any log from soapUi because when this exception occurs soapUi is inactive and I can just kill this process. This exception occurs when I have open soapUi for a long time - 1 - 2 days without restarting it and running a lot of tests where I am using mostly just groovy script and test request. I just raise memory to soap ui but probably not enough. Sometime when I look in memory log I can see that I am using usually 95 % of soap ui memory

    so nothing new ? I am working with a big file (one of my project has 22,5 mb and this is just xml with over 300 tests ) and I have just 4gb ram so probably I should buy newer notebook

    Hello,

    Check soapUI installation directory. There you should be able to find soapui-pro.log and soapui-errors.log. Also, can you tell us what linux and what Java are you using?
    Are you using binary soapUI distribution or installer?

    I am using openjdk 6 and installer versionof soapUI. In error log I cant find this exception maybe next time when this exception occurs I will write some additional information

    Hi,

    Maybe your Groovy scripts are creating a memory leak? You can isolate this by monitoring the used memory of soapUI, while running the same TestSuite multiple times. If the memory usage of soapUI rises for each run, you have a memory leak -- then you should do the same thing for the TestCases in that TestSuite to isolate further.
