[R]Modify soapui sample project from ActiveMQ to WebSphereMQ

Hello,
Soapui website ( http://www.soapui.org/JMS/working-with-jms-messages.html ) has very good sample project(%soapui_home%/Tutorials/sample-soapui-project.xml) to implement JMS (Hermes) with ActiveMQ. It works good.
I assume the same logic with modifying the soapui project will implement JMS (Hermes) with WebsphereMQ. From this thinking, I tried to 'Add JMS Endpoint' after successfully configure websphereMQ session(WMQ) in Hermes. Then I couldn't see WMQ session (see screen). Did I do something wrong or this is wrong approach?

    Hi,

    That seems unusual. Did you do a File -> Save Settings in HermesJMS?
    Do you see a WMQ under sessions in HermesJMS?

    I meant the "sessions" under the jms folder.

    Yes, I can see.
    BTW, I found this link viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10812&p=27789&hilit=add+JMS+endpoint&sid=37177f718c843e07a93b4c71c0ce35fa#p27789 (reported in 2011 and has not been marked solved). I modified that groovy script and got the exactly same error:
    "Hermes configuration is not valid. Please check that 'Hermes Config' project property is set to path of proper hermes-config.xml file".
    And the other error when I close the 1st error:
    "javax.naming.NamingException: Session name 'WMQ' does not exist in Hermes configuration or path to Hermes config ( C:\.hermes )is not valid !!!! error at line: 17"

    and groovy output is:
    Thu Jan 16 16:03:40 EST 2014:INFO:C:\Program Files\SmartBear\soapUI-Pro-4.6.0\hermesJMS
    Thu Jan 16 16:03:40 EST 2014:INFO:hermes-config.xml
    Thu Jan 16 16:03:40 EST 2014:INFO:true

    Is this the matter of Hermes installation? But I think I downloaded/installed Hermes alone.

    Hi,

    According to the link you provided it says:


    Do you use hermesJMS that goes bundled with soapui installer . This is important because bundled hermesJMS have some tweaks that are soapui related and other hermesJMS versions dont work. So if this is the case please download installer version and choose to install hermesJMS when start installer.


    Are you using the hermesJMS that is installed with SoapUI Pro?

    I don't have WebSphere MQ installed locally to try and test this (as far as I know there is no free version of WebSphere MQ to try).

    Maybe bcoz admin installed for me. So I will reinstall Hermes independent version, shall I just replace the existing one?

    Using the SoapUI Pro installer you should be prompted to update your installation of SoapUI Pro. From there choose the HermesJMS component to install.

    I don't see SoapUI Pro installer (only SoapUI Pro uninstaller). I've downloaded v1.14 from http://www.soapui.org/JMS/getting-started.html. If I replace the prev one, I need to wait tom with Admin's help. Can I do alternative that install it in different folder (outside SoapUI Pro folder)? If so, what other configuration I need to do?

    Yes, you can install HermesJMS to another folder. Remember to update the path to Hermes JMS in SoapUI Pro to File -> Preferences -> Tools, Hemes JMS.
