Launch ReadyAPI! In Debug Mode By Default?

Hi,

Currently if I try and hit the debug button on a groovyscript I get a warning dialogue that SoapUI needs to restart to enable the debug function - I don't remember it working like this several versions ago.

I was wondering if there's anyway to launch SoapUI in debug mode by default so I don't have to keep restarting it?

As I say - I don't remember having to restart to launch debug on previous versions - but I could be mistaken.

I've checked the Preferences - but I couldn't see anything that would be relevant.

Thanks in advance,

richie

Re: Launch ReadyAPI! In Debug Mode By Default?

Looking in the 2.3 Release Notes this is when the change occurred. It has this link:

https://support.smartbear.com/readyapi/docs/soapui/steps/groovy.html#enable-debugger-forever

Explaining how to permanently enable the debugger. I've not actually tried this, I just remembered reading it when I first looked at the release notes.

Re: Launch ReadyAPI! In Debug Mode By Default?

Thankyou - thats it!

Just so it saves anyone else finding the page.

Navigate to the ReadyAPI.vmoptions file saved within \\Program Files\SmartBear\ReadyAPI-x.x.x\bin\ReadyAPI.vmoptions

add the line '-agentlib:jdwp=transport=dt_shmem,suspend=n,server=y' to the file and save.

Its a read only file so you might have to overwrite the complete file rather than edit it to save any changes.

Cheers,
