Sorry to hear that, for what it’s worth, a type mismatch indicates the use of a string where an integer should be or something similar. It’s a pretty common and usually easy to fix issue. It sounds like you are very close. Once you have your footing I bet this will work well.

Instead of keys “^v” pasting a value into a box,  
you could try to type out the value in your clipboard by using Sys.Clipboard.

You have to set the ‘mode’ to Code Expression, then use Sys.Clipboard.  
If you don’t set the mode by clicking the ‘…’ in the value column it will type “Sys.Clipboard” as a string
