Query for null value comparison

how to compare null value of soap response with database valid value in excel using groovy script, for SOAP UI free version.

I have this scenario:

1. SOAP response getting stored in Excel with few tags missing as their value is NULL

2. Database response getting stored in excel

Question:

How to compare null value of soap response with database  using GROOVY script.
