Re: Automating Desktop application on AWS Cloud - help
Hello, I am curious if you were able to successfully test your application using AWS AppStream. If so, were you able to use your existing desktop tests or did you have to create new ones? Note: The articles on https://support.smartbear.com/articles/testcomplete/#_ga=2.99097879.829203926.1605639805-2057806675.1567805523&_gac=1.207874726.1601992326.EAIaIQobChMIuN_QnI6g7AIVZQnnCh0weQj3EAAYASABEgIs6fD_BwE seem to be more geared toward running the tests on a machine in the cloud vs running tests on a local computer with an application delivered via AppStream. Thanks, Clayton1.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: TFS Integration really slow
I created a ticket with support and this was the reply: "We can confirm that there are some performance issues during the Check-In operation. It happens due to the specifics of working with Visualizer. You can improve the speed if you disable the"Bind Visualizer frames to SCC" option in the Visualizer options." Disabling that option made it a lot faster.1.9KViews2likes1CommentRe: TFS Source Control with Check-In Policy in 11.2
I just started using TFS with TestComplete. We require a comment on check-in and TestCompletedoes show this policy. If you try to check-in without a comment, another pop-up appears that looks like it would allow you to override the policy. Note: With my project the integration with TFS does seem a little slow. (It takes about 30 seconds for the Check-In window to appear)1.7KViews2likes1CommentWorking with a Network Project Extremely Slow
Has anyone else noticed that working with a Project stored on anetwork drive is extremely slow? It takes a long time to open the project and then once it is open it sometimes takes a long time to open a test. ProcessMonitor shows that it is trying to create a file in 'C:\Windows\CSC\v2.0.6\namespace\<Network Server>' 43,327 times and fails. (I don't have offline files enabled)) It also looks like it reads every visualizer file, even though I have the visualizer disabled. Sometimes when I try to open an individual file, it does this all again.805Views0likes0CommentsRe: NPAPI plugins don't work on Chrome version 42 and higher.
Looks like a new version is available that will support Chrome 45:http://community.smartbear.com/t5/Functional-Web-Testing/Google-has-now-removed-npapi-support-from-Chrome-what-is/m-p/104863?&_ga=1.157969978.166990057.1441195869#M25569 "We’ve just released TestComplete 11.1 that supports new Chrome 45 (without NPAPI). So, you need to update your TestComplete version – click Help | Check for Updates from the TestComplete main menu."1.3KViews1like1CommentRe: NPAPI plugins don't work on Chrome version 42 and higher.
chrisb wrote: SmartBear supplies patches for each version of Chrome:http://support.smartbear.com/downloads/testcomplete/chrome-patches/ When Chrome gets to version 45 I would assume SmartBear will roll out their NPAPI replacement. But that would be a question for SmartBear support. If I read your message correctly you say that keyword tests worked in IE but now your tests are not working. Perhaps you can post for some help with that issue? FYI I created a support ticket asking if TestComplete and TestExecute will work with Chrome after version 45 and the reply was 'We are aware of this issue and taking measures. Chrome support will retain.'1.5KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Is a browser patch needed for TestComplete/TestExecute and Chrome Version 42.0.2311.90 m.
Hello Tanya, That workaround fixed the issue. Since the workaround will stop working in September, is it safe to assume that a new extension is in the works and will be available before then? brook_grewcock, did you register for this site:https://smartbear-cc.force.com/portal/ ? I didn't get an email reply but when I logged into the above site, the support ticket was closed and it had links to the patches.4.6KViews0likes2Comments
