loadUI does not start

Hello!

Wow, that sure looks like a mess. A few questions:

• Did you fix use the default Windows installer (loadUI-1_5_0.exe)?


• What's the JRE version on your system (in a command line, type java -version)?


• In the [loadUI installation folder]\bundle, does the file com.springsource.org.apache.ivy-2.1.0.jar exist?


• Does this Java test run successfully on your computer?

This is the same error I get also I will try to get this working tomarrow. I was going to post my dump but it is almost identical

java version "1.7.0"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0-b147)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 21.0-b17, mixed mode, sharing)

Yes that jar is there.

Now, I heard people having problems with loadUI+Java 7 (1.7.0) and when they downgraded to Java 6 it worked fine. I can't really see why Java 7 would break loadUI, and I'm not saying that that's a good solution -- but if you are willing to try a quick fix...

I am a developer and I have noticed that Java & likes to break some things. So it is on going, I know it has something to do with the structure in different places at least that is what I am seeing. I will go back to JAVA 6 and update this thread. We all should really not be using JAVA 7 in production yet IMO till everyone catches up.

BTW I am on WIN XP SP3

OK, it seems that LOADUI needs to build some files on the first load, just switching back to JAVA6 will not work as there will be missing files that load UI builds on the first run. What I did was uninstalled JAVA7, LOADUI and JAVAFX then I restated and made sure my java version was the later by typing java -version in cmd window. Should look something like this.

java version "1.6.0_26"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.1-b02, mixed mode, sharing)

I enabled the console output in java by going to control panel or type javaws -viewer close the cashe window and you should see a tab on the java control panel called Advanced click that. exspand the java console and tick the "SHOW CONSOLE" radio button.

This is rutamentry but its nice to see whats going on under the hood.

Install LOADUI just as you would if it was a new install, if you do not have Internet you will need to download JavaFX from another computer and install it on your machine.

When you run it you will see the console and should work. If not copy the log and post it.

I hope this works for you as it did for me.

You may want to make a sticky or a NOTE on the troubleshooting steps that JAVA7 is not compiling right so use JAVA6 then reinstall.

Good idea. I've already updated the Installation Troubleshooting guide.

I might also create a sticky (I just got the feeling that there's already too many stickies in this forum :p )

For you that have had java 7 issues, please read this! I think that we have fixed this
