Hi,I'm trying to run my scripts on Firefox 34.0.5 but it's not even opening the browser. I'm using TestComplete 10.20.953.7 . Are there any patches/extensions i need to install?Please help. Thanks in advance.MR

Hi, Refer to this page - It contains the Firefox patches for different TestComplete versions. I guess, you will need to update your TC version. TestComplete 10.5, which is installed on my computer, recognizes objects inside Firefox 34 successfully.

After installing TC 10.5 on my 2nd machine, Firefox 34.0.5 is correctly recognized as a browser object.When looking at the extensions, TC 10.5 is installing tcFF34Hook.dll so I copied the dll into the extension dir of TC 10.20 and it's working.So may be there are different configurations out there, but if Firefox33 patch was really working for Firefox34, why is there a specific dll for FF34?

Firefox 34 is sufficiently different as to require a separate DLL to support it, much like past Firefox versions. This is not surprising.If you'll check the support docs, you'll notice that TestComplete 10.50 does not *officially* support FF34. The support is currently unofficial but (I've learned) there will be a patch coming out in a week or two to provide that official support.Please note that we (SmartBear) will support the various combinations of patches to our versions of TestComplete as are listed in the Downloads section for the various browsers.Eg: http://support.smartbear.com/downloads/testcomplete/firefox-patches/Note also that if you try to use unsupported combinations, and then ask for help, we shall have to give you a stern look and scold you gently but firmly.With that said, sometimes you just simply need something to get you going. Noted and agreed. We usually try to get support for the new browser versions out quicker than this.

Still does not work. I tried on my desk top as well as a server where we have Test Execute

Likewise I can say that it works for me.

Any more details please about what exactly does not work? Have you installed the patch as per instructions provided in the downloaded archive? Have you used correct patch for TestComplete and/or TestExecute? What OS you are using? Bitness? Is FireFox 32-bit? Anything else that can help others to give you a piece of advice?

Like Bruce, I have TC 10.20 installed with Firefox 33 patch installed and Firefox 34.0.5 does not appear as a browser object in object mapping.

So all tests are falling.

Browser beta versions are hard, let's go shopping!

Or make everyone wait a month before releasing a working DLL...

<<Not>> happy with SmartBear's position on the handling of new browser versions.

One would think after the first 20 posts about this that the process would be improved, but I suppose it's less effort to simply say you don't "officially" support it.

Please improve this process, that is all, thank you.
