Hello Everyone! Thank you very much for your participation and providing very valuable feedback on the new SmartBeat product name. We now have the new name for the product: TestLeft! And even though we didn't not select a specific name that was suggested, we used all of your feedback in our decision process. The new product name signifies the Shift Left trend in the industry, where we see more and more developers involved in functional testing. Missed Turbo. Turbo sounds like a Borland product, so not a great name,With regards to the IDE, our project uses the scripting functionality only. When a developer needs to review or update a test script I have to spend time helping them install the Test Complete IDE, activate licensing and then train them on it. It would be more efficient for us to be able to write / update tests in Visual Studio.

Sounds like an interesting product. As far as the names, TestComplete Turbo doesn't seem too bad. I don't like TestComplete Driver because my initial reaction is it is just to drive existing TestComplete scripts. Test InCode feels like it hits the nail on the head. Test Fusion I don't like because the company I work for has a product called Fusion that I test with TestComplete, so that would just get confusing. Test Unity doesn't seem too bad either. So long story short my vote is Test InCode.

Hm-m... Just the very initial impression:

> TestComplete Driver

Cons:

-- This sounds like something like a driver that can be used for Selenium (Chrome driver, Firefox driver, ...). Someone might think that with this 'driver' Selenium gets an ability to work with desktop applications, thus causing a lot of irrelevant questions on how to integrate the 'driver' with Selenium.

Pros:

-- The same misunderstanding from above might result in a higher search hit rate with a chance to get more customers.

Maybe this is something that should be analysed by Marketing/SmartBear Web Site Usage Analysts/etc.

P.S. For the same reason

sounds like one more unit test framework that is obviously incorrect and thus I rate this name lowest at the moment.

Great to hear we will be freed from the Test Compete IDE! with regards to names here's my two cents. BTW, two of your suggestions partially use the name of 2 big software products (Unity, Fusion).

TestComplete Turbo
TestComplete Driver - 'Driver' sort of implies software drivers, confusing name.
Test InCode - Best of the bunch,
Test Fusion - Too close to VMWare Fusion
Test Unity - Sounds like a tool for testing Unity projects

  Also, could I ask you what are your main issues right now with using TestComplete IDE? And which IDEs are using right now, Eclipse, Visual Studio?

Concept sounds good, we don't have the need for the moment but I can see where it is filling a gap.

None of those names particularly stand out for me. For marketing you want to keep name recognition/brand and you also want the use of the product to be clear.

Working from the existing products you have
TestComplete
TestExecute

so keep the Test part and call it something like
TestDeveloper
TestScripter

  Hi Chris, We currently do have TestComplete extension/integration to Visual Studio but it doesn't allow to author tests in Visual Studio only to execute them as part of Visual Studio build. The new product allows to create tests in you programming language within your IDE enviroment while having access to some TestComplete features.

Test InCode, sounds best and is descriptive.
Don't name it "Turbo" anything! reminds me of the 1980's where everything was "Turbo" if it was crap, and you wanted it to sell....Turbo Lancers, Turbo Transam, Turbo hair driers.....

May be "Test InSide" or "TestComplete InSide"?
Sounds like you can make test inside your app, but using tool from "side".
