Hi,

As we are using QA Planner & we are quite happy with the QA Planner. But I just got a question about the security, How secure is that data that we store in QA Planner?? As we are not aware of the security, can you please provide some detailed information about the secuirty of the data?? How secure is your database? Please let us know the reply, as we are also planning to upgrade the product depending on the reply. Thanks a lot.

BACKUP OF DATA

Hi ....
i just wanted to know how do we take the backup of all the data stored on your application..
i have an account created and will be using it for my company use.
But i fail to understand how actually will i be able to take the backup of all Progress made by my team.
The Graphs and Pie Charts, i also need to take backup of all these weekly basis.
Is this possible , if yes , how can we do that?

Setting Up New Projects

Is it a limitation of QA Planner that you cannot set up Projects? Selecting the Add New button returns You have reached the maximum number of projects allowed for this edition of Software Planner.

Users with read access cannot see created testcases

I (with my security admin rights) created a set of testcases, and then set up a user assigned to a restricted security group (with read/add/update only access). When I log in with that user's login details, I can't see any of the test cases that I had created earlier.

Do the test cases have to be assigned to the user for him/her to be able to view them??

Potential enhancement: Add columns for number of linked items to test case list

Current test case list displays number of attachments and notes for each test case. Would be nice to have an indication of the number of linked items for each test case as well.
Would anyone else find this useful?

Test Case Ordering

When organizing Test Cases, it would be nice if you organize cases by moving them up and down in the list rather than having them always sorted alphabetically or by adding a number. In most cases, you need testing done in a particular order. For example, if you had a folder of test cases called "Installation" and another one called, "Configuration", the Configuration folder would always come first. Of course you could add a "01_" to the Installation folder to make it come first, but that becomes a nightmare in the future if you have to insert something between, especially if you are having to number your test cases. By having a sequence, it would be easier if you need to move a test case up in position and then the sequence would automatically be renumbered for the test cases below.

Configuring statuses

Is there a way to add or edit the defined statuses? For example, in addition to Active/Passed/Failed, I would also like to have statuses for Blocked and Under Investigation for a test.

If QAPlanner doesn't but QAComplete does that would be nice to know also.

How to get total Estimated Hours in a report

Hi,

After looking through the reports with the beta QA Planner version, wondering if anyone can point me to a good place where I can get a total of estimated hours for a subset of tests (sorted either by folder/group or subgroup)? Also total number of tests by status within a subset of tests.

Also I have had no luck trying to create a filterby folder name. I am trying to filter my tests that are all in folders under one release, by using the 'folder'parameter and 'begins with' condition. But any filter by folder name I create seems to turn up no data, even though I know there are lots of test cases nested within these folders.

Test cases export is not working properly

I noticed when exporting test cases using CSV formt that not all the steps are exported, only the first line of the steps got exported.
Also, I am using the free edition of QAPlanner, is there any way to chnage the export profile to XML Format instead of CSV so I can get all the steps of the test cases

Access permission

Considering security concern of test cases/ data stored on your SaaS based server, my company is having question.

1)Does Smartbear have the right to refuse the access their system/machine anytime they want?

Error logging in with a new user

Hi,

I've just created a new user account in QA Planner for one of my colleagues and they are getting an error message on logging in. I then also can't edit or delete the user record, I just get a blank error window on attempting to save. Looks like other people have had this issue too, are you able to reset?

QA Planner - unable to increase the width of Left Hand Side Frame

Errors

I get the following message when i try to login as one of my newly setup users (login_error.png):

An error occurred while processing your request and has been logged with the System Administrator. If you continue receiving this error message, please contact Support.

Also, I cannot edit any of the information of that user...when i hit "submit", i just get a pop-up that says "Error"....(edit_user_error.png)

I think it may be because that user is in the QA security group, but is marked as a security admin in his user record?
