Windows 8 compatibility?

TC7 is not supported for several years already, thus I am really doubting that there may be some patch for it. (Even TC9 is already not supported in terms of development and patches.)

Your best bet would be to contact SmartBear Sales and ask them about possible options, but I think that if you must use TC on Win8 your only option will be to upgrade to TC10.

Just try it in your environment and check if it works for you.

TestComplete 7 was released when Win8 was not released yet and thus was not intended to support it. But depending on your tasks you might appear to be a lucky one with TC7 working for you.

The current version of TestComplete does not provide support for Windows 8, however the feature will become available after Windows 8 is released.

Does SmartBear have access to early releases of Windows 8 which would allow you to create Beta versions of TC for us to use against Win8?



Our developers are already experimenting with our product using Windows 8, which means, depending on how much they change or introduce, our test automation will be behind(or further behind.  :-) )

It's been a while since the last post. Is there any update on when it will be compatible with Windows 8? I tried to install it on the developer preview but the Sentinel HASP licence manager won't install (OS not supported).

I asked SmartBear to send me a custom build where HASP would not check the operating system before it decided to install - to get around this problem with Windows 8 and HASP. However, no response.



I would hate to think we are being blocked by a simple 'If OS = Supported Then Install' logic check.Maybe I am being too optimistic thinking that would be the only barrier - its just the one we know about :)
