Rachel,
If you don't know file version or the build version in advance how test complete knows which one it has to pickup for import,
are you sure that there will be only one file with this naming convention ?
Are you sure that the number will have only four digits ?, if it is incremental, may be after few days it may become 5 digits.
What I am thinking is, get the latest file name to be imported during run time and save it in a variable and use it whenever required. or at least the part of the file name which changes frequently.
Thanks

murali - It will always be called the same thing at the beginning of the filename, yes there will always be only one file, yes it will always have 4 digits, it is incremental but the next part of the filename will increment if it hits .9999 (ie 1.95.1234.9999 would become 1.95.1235.001 on the next increment.) The folder bit gets tricky as there is no way to enforce the name of the folder, but since its just a manually run test we might just have to rely on the tester always installing it to the same folder.
tony - Wow thanks for the info, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply in such detail to me, however at this stage we have no plan to automate our GUI automated tests, we already have CI automation testing happening using Jenkins & FitNesse. In our situation GUI tests are too fragile to rely on automation, we will only be using these tests for the next 5 months or so til this project is over.
What I'm looking for is just a simple way to pickup a file called "filename1.95.****.zip" reliably every time the test is executed. I'm utterly baffled that its not simple!
