@Jeff, ta I'll have a read of that once I've had more coffee! I meant the convert keyword test to script test function in Test Complete. I've already done this to the test in question and saved it as a separate copy so I can play around.
murali Thanks, the only problem is the script can't know what the String2 value would be in advance. Where is it getting the 'build version' value from?
I'm trying to build my tests as reusable as possible, and it won't always be me running them, also we aren't automating the running of the tests at this time, so I can't even do an increment of the build number each time it is run. The tricky part is that we don't know which builds this might be run across, so it can't be hard coded.
It seems like an awful lot of work just to get it to pick up a mostly unique filename. Why isn't there a way to do it with wildcards instead? i.e. "filename.1.23.4567.****.zip"
